Akerlind involved in iPad grant

Ms. Akerlind is involved in a grant from the DPI called "iPads: Giving students with ASD and Intellectual Impairments a Voice".  She has received 2 iPads and will attend six hours of Professional Development with this grant.
This grant project allows students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Intellectual Disabilities at the secondary level greater access to the general education curriculum in the areas of Literacy and Mathematics.  The iPad will also assist students with communication and social interactions in school environments.
Recently her students used an App called colAR Mix to create "dancing pumpkins" which uses Augmented Reality.
